Leon's Boulevard of Unspoken Dreams

A 4th Year NUS Civil Engineering (Offshore) student...with the plainest clues to life's most important questions...so to make life seem much simpler and happier than it actually is...chose to satirise and mock his already complicated and complex 24 years of life history in this blog journal...on the quest to seek the real truth...on the journey to chase his endless dreams...and on the voyage to find out his eternal destiny...ahhhh nothing but crap again...

Day 38 (Wed)

Had the 1st in-service this morning at 8.30 am...1 hr before the normal time for work...under the lifeguard license issuing authority ellis and associates...all lifeguards have to attend one-hr of in-service training every week and any lifeguard not attending for 2 consecutive wks will have his or her license revoked...in-service training is just an hour's training to refreshen the CPR and water skills learned during lifeguard training..good idea since there is hardly a rescue to make and the skills would have probably rust away...

Instead of hitting the waters...Denise was kind enough to let us stay dry for this 1st in-service taking into account the cold weather...asked us to form a circle instead and self-introduce ourselves and say something abt the countries we come from...the Russians spoke about them coming from the biggest country in the world...how much forests, lakes and resources they have...One Bulgarian spoke about how Bulgaria is filled with beautiful girls...and a Romanian spoke abt how Dracula originated from Romania...like a mini cultural exchage forum...pretty interesting...i was one of the last singaporeans to speak and the rest has said the usual stuff...how pathetically small we are, our unique cultural diversity and even durians...so i decided to talk abt the HDB flats...boring i know but wad else can i say man...

HDB flats...YJ sent me this photo last wk with the subject "Home sweet Home"...nb made me miss home and wrong block somemore

was prepared for some 10/20 scanning aft inservice but was straight away sent to Ocean Oasis to do sai kang in preparation for its grand opening on Fri...spent the entire morning picking out weeds and rubbish from the plants...separating sawdust from sand...wahlan as good as separating sugar from salt...and worse it started to pour like crazy...and the supervisors denied us lunch until we formed a "sai kang labour union" to demand lunch from George...haha and it worked...was given a 45-min long lunch...and heard from the rest raging waters is closed for the day but no choice still gotta work for the sai kang pple...dun mind actually since can clock in more hours doing brainless work...

And seriously brainless work indeed...was sent wif Alwyn to pump the floats aft lunch...all together 10 boxes of 6...stayed in the pumping station for a good whole 2 hours...bearing the machinery noise and pumping the floats...at least away from the cold and winds outside...was finally released at 4.30pm and head back to the mag to rest for the day...

went wif ken and FX to rite aid to enquire about the job application and reached there 5min too late...decided to hunt for some alcohol to warm ourselves from the chill but all the alcohol shops are already closed...wah lau wildwood is seriously like a dead town aft 10pm...went back to the mag empty-handed...could have ended the day on a higher note with a bottle of corona sitting at the balcony but it was not meant to be...
