Day 29 (Mon - Lifeguard Training Day I)

Woke up with a bad cough and runny nose this morning...finally my body giving in to the torments of the weather...exposed to sun, wind and rain...lack of nutritions from instant mee, pasta and cookies and it is bound to happen...but it seems rather coincidental that i always fall sick ard this time of the year everytime...at least for the past few years...

no choice still gotta attend lifeguard training...aftall it's the 1st day of training today...dun wanna miss it and gotta go by myself for the nxt class alone...reported at raging waters at 9.30 sharp...was surprised to see so many pple...ard 80 over in fact...4 times the size of the class we attended 2 weeks back...2 weeks ago we only have students from 3 countries namely ukraine, colombia and singapore...now the training class of 80 students resembles sort of a mini-UN...with students from all over the world...there was ireland, russia, ecuador, puerto rico, bulgaria, haiti, hungary, Armenia and even one from kazakhstan...the other Asian coutry besides us...pple were speaking in all sorts of languages from english, mandarin, russian and spanish etc...really a good cultural exchange i muz say...haha

1st day of training basically is a refresher course for us singapore students...aftall we have learnt all these from the previous class and the only purpose to make us go thru it again is that we can mix with the newer lifeguards to foster better team unity between all the lifeguards...weather is lousy as usual...always seem the case whenever we have training...and it's much worse this time rd coz we were made to do our compact jumps continuously and that means have to go in and out of the pool non-stop...i counted we did that at least more than 30 over times...suay kenna wrong group...the other shallow guard group like more welfare...always see them in the water...aftnoon was spent practising CPR skills and training was ended at 6.30 pm

for once...all 6 of us hopped down to panda for dinner...muz have been a long time since we all sat on one table and eat together even though we are sharing the same apartment...reason being our so called dining table is pathetically small...and only 3 chairs to boot ard...went to superfresh aft that and the highlight of the day was soccer!! wah finally getta play soccer aft almost a month...we jio the columbians and soon enough...the car park 2 blocks away was turned into a mini street soccer court...Columbia Vs Singapore...South American Galatico vs puny kampung Singapore...in FIFA rankings they are heads over heels over us but here in wildwood...we thrashed them with an impressive score of 6-3...haha done s'pore proud and of coz forgot to mention we have one Thai import Bor who did an outstanding job at the back...the match was cut short by some fiery auntie who shouted out of the window with a booming loud voice

"Go back to sleep...the police are coming...go back home!!"

fearing she will take a shotgun out to shoot...we quickly scurried back not before promising the columbians a revenge match soon...6-3 in our favour for now...Adele dele...Ole Ole
