Day 50 (Mon)
It's back to work after 3 full days of rest...no complaints...really enjoyed my last 3 days esp the Philadephia trip on Fri/Sat...better start working or else no $$ to travel...not that i have a choice really...
the casino group is back...or rather another casino Harrah's from Atlantic City has booked the entire Mariner's Landing pier for the next 3 days...this time round the crowd is smaller compared to last week's insane crowd levels and the waterpark is also opened to the public at the same time...most likely to recoup the losses for not opening up due to the downpour yesterday...free lunch again...exact same menu but no one is complaining...wolfed down 2 cheese burgers during lunch and was left craving for more...the cheese burger is really solid...one of the best i had in US thus far...
work was beginning to become monotonous until 2 rather unpleasant incidents marred my day...each time i got a chiding by someone...1st by my Big Boss...2nd by a very very fierce obasan...left wondering at the end of the day whether i got up from the wrong side of bed this morning or what...
scolding 1: was guarding river entrance aft lunch...and Kerrine (got the spelling right this time =p) called me to answer an ah pek's question...the old man asked me whether i happen to see 4 gals in their mid-twenties floating by and i said i got no idea and asked him whether if he is in urgent need to look for them...if so can go Guest Services...and they can announce...wah suddenly CO bumped out from nowhere and pulled me to one side and asked me to keep scanning and keep my eye on the water...wah really gave me a shock suddenly jump out like that and gave me a good earful...no hard feelings kerrine...juz wanna reflect on my day...haha :)
scolding 2: this is the super infuriating one...i have worked in sea dragon and lifeguard for close to 2 months and i have never met such an unruly, uncivilised and uncouth guest...waddahell i was really pissed off and for the 1st time since i worked at morey's...i was on the verge of losing my temper...in fact i lost it and was trying hard to salvage my last bit of "cool"...anyway back to the incident...i was guarding the serpentine splash...happily seating down on my favourite seat...enjoying the wind and breeze and doing my 10/20...this auntie in her late thirties came down the slide on the left flume and was waiting for her daughter to come down on the right...andden apparently her daughter was a bit slow and so came down with another child quite closely...den dunno for wad also...the auntie who is still in the pool, came up to me and started yelling at me saying i not doing my job well watching the pool and let another child come down so closely behind hers...and not juz that...she spray water at me somemore loh and keep saying i not doing my job and shud have prevented it from happening...
my goodness...she yell me i can take it but for what spray water at me...not my fault wad...if 2 riders come closely i cannot control rite...it's the one doing despatch on top that is controlling...how to stop the one behind when all the riders are sliding down at such rapid pace...really knn...i told her all that and she juz yell at me...and farnie thing continue taking the serpentines 2 more times aft that and left with a happy smile on her face...crazy woman...spoil my day...
but lucky got one bead today so relieve my foul mood somewhat...got 10.3 for scanning at shoals floater and was given dark brown bead...and it was my 2nd time so got a morey's key chain...and saw my name on the "Expert Scanners" list...and worse spell my name as "Leon Kok"...wah kaoz...i am Leon Low...sounds so much better...why can't they get it right??
