2nd day of lifeguard work...the crowd seemed to have doubled frm yesterday and gotta blow my whistle for the 1st time since my first day...these young punks simply love to slide down with their heads first when they should be doing it feet first...whistle like almost every 2 minutes and they simply do it again...and some small kids dun seem to respond to whistles...i blow like mad and not once their heads turn to me...andden i realise the trick to make them listen to you...go up straight to them...bend down point to your feet and say with a nice gentle voice..." Son, feet first ok?" If they nod their heads u have succeeded...if not start hunting for daddys and mummys to tell them to transfer your instructions as a last resort...
Hurray!!! got my first bead...as an incentive and a very clever one indeed...at the end of the day...some of the lifeguards are issued beads to reward them for the day...they can put in on their whistle chain...and of coz the more beads u have the more pro lifegurad u are and prob more bonus u will be getting...diff coloured beads stands for diff things...red is safety bead for good scanning...orange is good attitude bead...green is teamwork bead and white is good guest services bead...got my red bead for good scanning which i can't remember i did at kan remember where also...aiyah actually the whole thing is juz wayang only...see supervisors walk by pretend to scan by rotating your heads...the more you can wayang the higher chance you can get your bead...but also dun too paiseh lah...at least get one to put on if not malu if like end of ypur job dun even have one bead to show...
Wayang tools for the day...at least got one bead to show for now...need to sharpen my oscar skills for more...hee
FIREWORKS!!! Fireworks came on at ard 11p.m in celebration of Memorial Day...with patriotic war songs in the background, a misty fog in the sky and watching frm the sea dragon is quite an unique experience...me and yilin decided to take our time to load the pple and slowly marvel at the night sky...can compare with NDP standard i muz say...too bad never bring camera...even if brought also cannot take since still working...but at least compare to some of other pple...the view frm sea dragon was quite solid...and of coz those sitting in the ferris wheel when the fireworks came on are the most lucky ones lah...romantic ambience man and perfect time for the guy to pop the all impt question......
"Will you help me wipe the mustard sauce off my face darling?" (Ok damn lame i know)
