Day 81 (Thurs) *LV Day 2*

i thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when i woke up this morning...surely but clearly...there is one ang moh cha bor in skimpy nighties on top of Ken's bed directly adjacent to JK and mine's...and she raised her upper body up on her bed...with the blanket juz barely revealing her bare shoulders and with a morning husky voice she asked me, "Is anyone in the bathroom?"

i was wide eyed...we had expected someone to share with us the 6-MAN dorm from Collene the receptionist when we checked in...but she didn't prepare us for this rite...in the middle of the nite...a lone female backpacker checking in and sharing the room with 5 guys and juz wearing a skimpy nightie to sleep...wah is this all part of the Las Vegas experience? i am surely not prepared for it...haha...but all our morale dropped when we realised she is juz staying for the nite and checking out at 11am this morning...

went down and stirred-panned the first pancakes of my life...turns out to be not too bad...haha...wah will try my hands at doing it for breakfasts when i go back to singapore...quite easy buy the mix...stir with water...pour onto a mdeium heated pan...flipped over when got holes...and pour honey or syrup over it and there u go...the first pancakes i ever made in my life!! another culinary achievement! haha

slacked in the room for a while before the gang took the "free" shuttle bus arranged daily by the hostel at 1pm to the world renowned Las Vegas Strip...time to see those grand and lavish casinos that i have heard so much about...and of coz Vortigern Entertainment's fully owned "The Venetian"...hopefully they have already laid out their red carpet...knowing their CEO is here for a visit...heh

Our Room In LV...certainly exceeded all our expectations with free wifi, breakfast, laundry, comfortable bed and of coz air-con!! to escape the damn Nevada desert heat

the toilet...much more spacious and cleaner than the one we had in NYC

Early morning Vegas view...minus the gleaze and sleaze of the famed Strip

finally some decent internet connection after almost a week...desperately clearing my mail while waiting to catch the shuttle bus to the Strip

now you know why i say "free" shuttle bus...as it is nothing is free in Las Vegas

we reached our drop-off point Treasure Island after 15 minutes...felt the sudden outburst of the Nevada heat straught after getting off the mini-van...seriously not a joke at 40 degrees celsius...u can feel the heat burning your face...heating up every inch of skin, every pore, every blackhead...wah kaoz the heat is much more intense den any day i have as a lifeguard back in wildwood...quickly scurried indoors once we reached Treasure Island...explored around the hotel before taking the skytrain towards MGM Mirage...a much more happening place than TI with more casino tables and slot machines...even have a white tiger enclosure open to the public and pink dolphin lagoon...stayed around MGM for around 30 minutes or so before we moved off to our next destination...

it became inevitable to avoid the scorching heat as we had to walk outside to get to Caesars Palace...along the way went to a few gift shops and bought some souvenirs for friends and so on...watched a Live Gig outside an outdoor pub...bo bian all budget travellers...so no $$ go in order one jug of beer to quench our thirsts, soothe the heat and enjoy the music...juz gotta stand outside and watched the band struct their stuff...

made our way to the Forum shops at Caesars Palace...wow the facade and interior of Caesars is super grand and impressive...the design modelled after Roman Medieval times when gladiators and legions rule...i am really impressed by the grandeur and palatial manner of the whole casino and hotel...and they have this indoor dome-shaped rooftop that will automatically change frm day to night and back again...they juz made one feel so princely, royal and everything once you stepped in...kindda like u are so rich and high up above others...haha maybe that's how they wanna pple to feel so they can spurge like hell at the Guccis, Pradas, LVs, Victoria Secrets, Versaces and so on...and wheel their fortunes at the gambling tables...we spent the bulk of our time here at Caesars and the Forum Shops where there are simply so much things to see...watched a real cool Pyrotechnic amd Animatronics show filled with real smoke, fire and water...the show is about the story of Atlantis and i muz say i am really entertained by how well the whole show is choreographed and sequenced from start to finish and they are juz a bunch of life-sized puppets mind u...overall damn high class the shopping center...one of the most high class one i have ever stepped in...haha now i know why the rich and famous are always flocking here...stayed at Caesars for the rest of the day till evening before we decided to go back to put down our shopping bags and plan for some nite activities...heehee

passed by the Stratosphere Tower on our way to the Strip...where it housed one of the world's highest rides...the High Roller roller coaster and the Big Shot located 100 stories above the ground

Treasure Island - Our shuttle bus drop-off Point

MGM Mirage - Our next stop after TI

Hurriedly posed for a shot outside the Mirage before entering for some aircon relief

The Gang at MGM Mirage...the whole hotel is designed with a jungle theme with min waterfalls and rapids in and around the hotel

another beautifully designed waterfall fountain at the Mirage...running water always has a therapeutic effect on people

the white tiger habitat - one of the major attractions at The Mirage

Outside Harrah's...where we bought some souvenirs and watched a live Gig briefly

Acting cool is the theme...JK...always the odd one out...haha

some dices for friens...wah lau so nice rite...ok i am gonna to keep one for myself...heh

the world-renowned Las Vegas Strip by day

spotted this "eye-catching" ad on a moving truck...to remind me i'm in Las Vegas i suppose

The Caesars Palace...from across the street...

where international stars Elton John and Celine Dion are in-house performers

At the entrance of Caesars...farnie this statue don't piss one...prob dried up by the torrid heat

the Strip from another angle...atop the sky bridge at Caesars...that is Toni Braxton in the gigantic pic btw

me, ken and mugant at one of the colossal figure inside Caesars

ehhh...i tot i told the valet to park my car at the VIP lot liao...den why is it on display here??

with the car of my dreams - Lamborghini Gallardo in close proximity...with the right shade of colour to match

the interior of the lambor...ooohh...i am salivating as i am uploading the pic

another black lambor nearby...a bit too ah beng the car...why go and put that stupid blue batman thingy in front? spoil everything...

Brands abound in Las Vegas...

and more brands...

both my sis are gonna kill me...bought this 2 cigars for Pa...which comes with a humidifier bag...learnt a thing or 2 about cigars from the salesgirl inside the cigar shop...1 question are cigars allowed in spore customs?

one final shot with one of the many majestic statues in the Lobby and shopping arcade of Caesars before going back to the hostel

shared a cab back to the hostel where it comes up to 15 bucks...approximately 3 bucks a person...the hostel only provides shuttle service to the Strip and not back...if there is anything to complain abt the hostel it would be its location which is some distance off the Strip where it is all Vegas...on the way dropped by bank of america only to realise it is closed liao...head off to look for some decent dinner...all determined not to make a 6th consecutive nite of Subway...haha...decided to settle our meal at a burger joint near our place after deciding we are not getting our $$'s worth at a all-you-can-eat chinese buffet...had a rather tasty double-cheese burger with fries and soda for a reasonable price...went back to the hostel to rest before deciding on some nite time entertainment...it's Las Vegas aftall fellas!

Fremont street where our hostel is located - juz imagine Las Vegas is Geylang and Fremont Street is Geylang of Geylang...where guns and hoods rulez

when u can see a sign like this in ur neighbourhood...u betta watch ur arse seriously

look at the display of guns at a gun shop few streets frm my hostel...i am not surprised if i hear a gunshot in the nxt few days

a shot outside mine hostel after a day at the Strip

^NIGHT ACTIVITIES TOP SECRET^

whatever happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas...hee
